10 Mile TT- Time 24:34 / Speed Avg 24.4 mph

A quick recap of the TT. Last week I did my fourth time trial ever. It went well and I was really pleased with a 1st AG Finish and 6th AG Female Overall. Time was 24:34 and Speed Avg was 24.4 mph. This one was slower than my last, but I am still happy with the result.

I raced St. A's the week before and came home to a huge block of Ironman training. I think I went in overly optimistic and at the end of the day, I was a bit flat and just didn't have the push I needed go any harder. However, that's how it rolls for triathletes. We train for three sports, not just one, so we will have the days when we just don't have quite the fight in us that we want to have. I am super proud of my friend Nicole who tore it up!  She's freaking fast! I coached her years ago when she first started all of this and now she's one of the best athletes that I know. Congrats to her and the others from Ignite for really great TT results. Good things from all!

One things for sure. I absolutely love the TT! They are hard and they hurt, but you feel such a sense of accomplishment after doing them. Time trials are called the race of truth and that's exactly what the are. You race yourself!  Each time I go out there, the competition is with myself. To try and be better than the last time. To build strength both mentally and physically. These have certainly helped me to become a better cyclist. I plan to do a few more of these throughout the summer on weeks when my IM training load is not quite so full. I do love them! I have a goal that I want to reach this year with them, so will keep pushing until I get there.

Big thanks to sponsor Vanderkitten for making me two new slick VK skin suits for the TT's! It looked great on and felt amazing too!
