WIPEOUT! (AGAIN)

The trails have taken their toll on me again! On Monday, I had another massive wipe out on Monbo. This one hurt worse than the first one and I sat there in the middle of the trail for a good ten minutes before I could even get up. That's how bad it hurt and what sucks even more is I was mid trail, so had to walk back out which took ages. What happened?! I went down on the same knee that was injured just a couple of months ago in a bike crash. The injury before was a bone bruise (Bone Bruise Defined) which is very painful. It took several weeks for it to feel normal again and just when I felt back to my old self....down again.

Same leg, same knee, worse pain! Why oh why the knee??!? If it were just my leg, maybe it wouldn't hurt as much, but the knee??!? Again?!? This one may change up some plans for me unfortunately. Two days now and I am still swollen and in pain...I'm beginning to wonder if I should do the Charleston Marathon now. I only have a couple more weeks of training and at the moment...I can't train at all. I have a goal for Charleston and if I can't finish my training, well, I just don't know. Rich thinks that I should just forget about the marathon and get my plantar fasciitis issues worked out and rest my leg for a couple weeks.  I definitely don't want to go into a marathon injured and take the chance in making something worse. Triathlon season is fast approaching, so I certainly wouldn't want to compromise that. Oh well, it's all just part of the game I suppose. It's definitely about making the right decision this time. I'm sure it will feel better come race day, however, it's these next couple of weeks that are so important. We shall see....

Yikes. Hope ya heal up fast.

On the bright side, if you are going to get banged up, better now than in the middle of summer, eh?
