TRAVELS & BUSY BUSY

Been a while since the last blog and this one will be just a quick recap. Traveling and working have kept me super busy, and I just haven't had the time to write. I am busy with photography and also promotions for Rich's company, and will actually soon be coaching novices as well which is very exciting. My Ironman training is going well and I'm ready. Not much longer now :)

Training sessions have gotten longer and harder, and the long days of training in 100 degree temps should have me prepared for the heat of Louisville next month. I can't wait! Rich is back in pro mode and seems we are on a plane lately more than in the car. Last weekend it was Rhode Island. It was my first trip to up North and I loved it! We flew into Boston and saw some great sights there and then drove into Warwick, RI and stayed with a friend there. Thanks to April for opening her home to us for the weekend :) Rich was feeling good, but the night before the race, due to packed restaurants and our delay...we had to wait on seating and dinner started at almost 9pm. Not good for Rich! We hopped in bed by 10:30 and were out the door at 4am. No time for digestion! Rich raced well considering what was happening in his stomach. Lead pack in the pro swim....3rd of the bike and was in strong contention with Bezzone and Berkel, even passing Berkel in the 1st lap of the run placing him in 2nd. Vomiting started and Rich started to fade due to the stomach issues and he dropped to 5th for the remainder and then on the last mile dropped to 6th. He crossed the line and hit the ground. Lesson learned about pre-race dinners! Back home and him being determined got into Racine last minute and is now feeling strong for this one. We had an early dinner this evening....5pm to be exact. Once again it looks like avery strong field, but Rich is ready to go! Fingers crossed for a great result tomorrow!! I am back in racing...iron in tact now after having the trouble with being iron deficient. Racing next weekend and am excited, but for now it's support time....GO RICH!

Rich is still adding races to the schedule with the next 70.3 being Timberman, and also adding Muskoka 70.3 and Ausin 70.3 before Clearwater in November. After my Ironman, I will be racing USAT Long Course Nationals in October.

Also...I will begin phasing out this blog in the near future. There will be a new blog coming as mentioned before. Stay tuned and I will pass the link along as soon as I get the new blog ready.
