PROUD~

I have to boast for a second...I am so proud of Caleb. He tried out for the All star traveling baseball team a couple of weeks ago and yesterday the call came in...he made the team. I am so proud of him. At 7 years old, he has really dedicated his time to baseball, and its because he dearly loves it. This is his reward. The team will travel along the east coast and play in tournaments against some of the best teams in the south. He is excited and I am excited as well. So proud of him!! :)

Training is going well. Monday I got in a good ride and then swam. It was a nice solid 2 hour workout. Swam felt good, my shoulders are a little tired though, I have been picking up distance on the swim a lot. Yesterday, I ran the tri course that I will run on Saturday. It is a tough one. A rough 10k for sure, especially after the swibi :) This is how they describe the run course... Run: The run course at Bandits is what makes this race famous. There are three VERY steep climbs, fortunately they're not very long. You will tackle the same climb out of the transition area up to the top of the dam at the start of the bike. BUT, it’s the climb on the other side of the dam that you have to do twice on this two-loop run course that people talk about the most. Words just don’t do it justice. We estimate that over 90% of all participants walk this hill during the race including many of the Elites. Ironically, if you eliminated the three short steep climbs, the remainder of the run course is basically flat. It's going to be a doozy especially in the heat. I love it though, the run goes out over the lake and it's just beautiful. After running the course, I swam 1200 meters, time ran out on me again. Shoulders are a little sore, I will most likely take the rest of the week off from the swim. I'm scheduled for a pre-race sports massage on Friday morning and I am sooo looking forward to that!!! I am very excited about Saturday :)

Funny how things happen too. I got in the car this morning to head to work and as I was driving a piece of paper fell down from passenger side visor. It is something that I clipped and put there a while ago. It was a clipping from the newspaper called 'Thought for Today'. This is the thought that was on the clipping.... " I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions and not upon our circumstances". The funny part about it is, I had a hard day yesterday, a very stressful and busy day and that note couldn't have fallen in my lap at a better time, for a better reason. Funny how things happen huh? Well, it made me smile anyway. I clip those from time to time and some are very motivational. I will leave you with one more that I clipped out last week..."Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler".

Have a great day everyone~

Sometimes hilly course can be fast. Take advantage of the down hills. Good luck :-)
